With Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey getting a sequel and since it's currently available on Peacock, I decided to give this one a try. And with it being a horror version of everyone's favorite Pooh bear, I figured why not. I knew it wasn't going to be a good movie, but was kinda curious...
This review will be fairly quick. Despite a little semi-decent scare here and there ... Blood and Honey is a horror movie that really isn't that great. It could be a little guilty pleasure to check out if you're bored. But, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey can easily be skipped! This really low budget movie could have been alot better and even some of the effects looked really cheap.
So, if you are kind of curious about Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, it can currently be streamed on Peacock!
Here are some tidbits for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey!
Production of the movie became possible in 2022 after AA Milne's novel Winnie the Pooh (1926) entered the public domain in the US, which marked the first appearances of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Christopher Robin, thus lapsing the characters into the public domain. The movie's characters couldn't, however, resemble the Disney versions, which debuted in 1966.
The movie was initially shot in just eight days.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was originally planned to be released in October 2022, but the increased publicity and re-shoots motivated the change to a 2023 theatrical release.
As of April 19, 2023, it grossed $2 million in the US and Canada, and $3 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $5.2 million.
In November 2022, the director announced that a sequel is in development for a 2024 release.
Alongside the announcement of a sequel, two other horror movies were announced - Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. In February 2023, Frake-Waterfield announced that the various projects take place in the same shared continuity franchise.
