DreamWorks Animation has another big winner for the families with ‘The Wild Robot.’
The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot - ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short - that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
‘The Wild Robot’ is a simple little tale that the whole family will really enjoy. This animated film delivers incredibly heart-felt moments, some great laughs and beautiful animation.
This adaptation of the popular children’s book series is easily one of the best animated features to be recently released. The story is extremely heart-warming and will also leave you feeling a little emotional even after the credits begin to roll at the end.
There are also quite a few likable characters that you will really enjoy! The small possum family that we see throughout the movie can be quite humorous, but the one character that really steals the show at times is Fink (the fox). Fink can be quite funny and also his little backstory and how he is alone can also be heart-breaking at times. Most of the characters keep their distance from Roz and the young gosling at first. Yet, over time, we get to see them warm up to them which gives you a nice, warm feeling.
Another thing I really like about the movie’s story is that it’s a story of belonging. There’s also a few scenes involving Roz where we see her following her heart and doing what’s right and not what she’s initially programmed to do. Quite a few characters have their own little heart-warming moments, which really helps with the ending of the film.
So, make sure to take the family out for a nice movie night and don’t miss ‘The Wild Robot!’ This heart-warming story will easily captivate audiences with its charm, emotion and its incredible stunning visuals.

‘The Wild Robot’ is written and directed by Chris Sanders, who also brought us the ‘Croods’ movies and ‘How to Train Your Dragon.’
