The ‘Trolls’ movie franchise has been entertaining kids and their families for a few years now. The 2016 movie was a big hit in theaters while its first sequel, ‘Trolls World Tour’, ended up becoming a decent hit through PVOD/streaming due to its very limited run in 2020.
Now, everyone’s favorite singing Trolls are back on the big screen for another fun adventure in ‘Trolls Band Together.’
After two movies of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy and Branch are now officially, finally, a couple. As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past.
He was once part of her favorite boy band phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd, John Dory, Sprucer and Clay. BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.
But when Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains — Velvet and Veneer — Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.
‘Trolls Band Together’ marks another amusing and fun ‘Trolls’ adventure that will really leave young fans of the lovable Trolls extremely entertained.
The third ‘Trolls’ adventure delivers some awesome musical numbers that the little ones will really enjoy. The musical numbers that are featured are also really catchy and the movie’s soundtrack really delivers. ‘Trolls 3’ also features a new single by NSYNC (which marks their first single in years).
In between all of the great musical numbers, this animated adventure also has a nice story that can be a little relatable and heart-warming. The sub-plot of the Branch character slowly reuniting with his long lost brothers is one of the many heart-warming moments that this movie features.
During a showing that I attended, I could tell the younger ones really enjoyed the movie. Some of them were enjoying the music and fun, and even brought along a few of their Troll dolls. ‘Trolls Band Together’ also delivers a nice message about family dynamics and how all family relationships are different.
The third ‘Trolls’ movie also has some great looking animation. There are a few sequences scattered throughout that are in 2D animation and just seeing those sequences really reminded me of some of the animated movies that I watched years ago before everything went to CGI.
Overall, ‘Trolls 3’ is a great family movie that every member of the family will enjoy. And, if there are any NSYNC fans out there, there is a part towards the end of the movie that you will really like!

‘Trolls Band Together’ is written by Elizabeth Tippet (Trolls World Tour) and directed by Walt Dohrn (the Trolls trilogy) and co-directed by Tim Heitz.
A third ‘Trolls’s movie was announced to be in production on November 22, 2021. This movie also includes some 2D animation sequences, with animation styles inspired by ‘Yellow Submarine’ and ‘Fantasia.’
‘Trolls Band Together’ is rated PG for some mild rude and suggestive humor and has a running time of 91 minutes.
