The ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ has been gracing the big screens at some point since 1990. Over the years, lots of people (myself included) have enjoyed all of their big screen adventures.

After the 2014 and 2016 reboot of the series earned mixed reactions from critics and audiences alike, studios decided to push the reboot button again on this franchise and give it a real fresh look. Now, eager fans can come on down to the Dietrich and check out the Turtles in an all-new fun adventure.

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers.

Their new friend, April O’Neil, helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an array of mutants is unleashed upon them.

‘TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’ is one of the best entries in the entire franchise. This amazingly awesome movie delivers beautiful animation, great Turtles fun and will easily make all TMNT fans satisfied!

Just to get this out of the way, the voice casting for this movie is great. The movie features some well-known actors (including writer-producer Seth Rogen) and all of them did a fantastic job. The one and only Jackie Chan provides the voice of Splinter and he’s absolutely perfect for the part. The teenage voice performers who provided the voices of the Turtles also did a very great job. You can easily tell from their voice performances that they had a blast making the movie!

‘Mutant Mayhem’ also delivers some really fun action. Some of the action can be on the humorous side since it’s the Turtles first time in the city on their own. A lot of the action moments are really energetic and the entire third act is incredible and keeps the fun moving.

There are also plenty of Easter eggs and references of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’ lore that some fans can possibly point out. One that really stood out is at one point during the Turtles’ first action-packed moment you get to hear a few seconds of the Vanilla Ice song “Turtle Rap” from the 1991 sequel ‘The Secret of the Ooze.’

The movie is also visually great as well. The animation style that’s used is really similar to the recent ‘Spider-Verse’ movies and it works really well for the TMNT world. Since the Ninja Turtles started out as comics, the comic book vibe that the animation gives is simply astonishing.

Overall, this marks another great hit for this series. Fans of the Turtles shouldn’t be disappointed with this one!!

Some of the voice cast: Micah Abbey as Donatello; Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo; Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo; Brady Noon as Raphael; Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil; Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom; John Cena as Rocksteady; Seth Rogen as Bebop; Jackie Chan as Splinter; Ice Cube as Superfly and Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, among many others.

‘Mutant Mayhem’ is written by Seth Rogen (Sausage Party; AMCs Preacher), Evan Goldberg, Jeff Rowe (Netflix’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines), Dan Hernandez (The Addams Family 2) and Benji Samit (Detective Pikachu) and directed by Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears.

‘TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’ is rated PG for sequences of violence and action, language and impolite material and has a running time of 99 minutes.

If you have enjoyed this iteration of the ‘Ninja Turtles,’ then get ready for more TMNT fun! The filmmakers and the studio are planning a two-season series on Paramount Plus and a sequel to this movie.
