‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Delivers Non-Stop Action and Laughs

It’s been some time since we saw Deadpool on the big screen. The ‘Deadpool’ movies ended up being huge hits during their theatrical runs and getting a new movie going had a few hurdles since Disney bought 20th Century Fox and received  the ‘X-Men’ rights.

Now, Deadpool is finally back on the big screen and brings along the return of fan-favorite Logan (a.k.a. Wolverine) with the eagerly-awaited ‘Deadpool and Wolverine,’ which is one of the best MCU movies recently released.

Deadpool’s peaceful existence comes crashing down when the Time Variance Authority (or TVA) recruits him to help safeguard the multiverse.

He soon unites with would-be pal, Wolverine, to complete the mission and save his world from an existential threat.

Ever since the first trailer for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ was finally revealed during this year’s Super Bowl, there was a lot of hype building for this movie. And, let’s just say this movie really lives up to the hype - and then some. ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ delivers many humorous gags, awesome action and many, many surprises.

As soon as the movie starts, the third ‘Deadpool’ movie really hooks you in. Just like the previous ‘Deadpool’ movies, this has an awesome opening credit sequence that actually tops the other two movies.

The action sequences that are featured in this MCU movie - and there are a lot - are amazingly shot and are really fun to watch. A few of the action scenes are between Deadpool and Wolverine (which are honestly the best ones in the movie). Their fight scenes together are intense and the music that’s played during them actually fit perfectly.

In fact, all of the moments featuring the two titular characters are really entertaining. Both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman work extremely well together and you can really tell they are glad to be back to their popular roles. Their moments together can be both really hysterical and even heart-felt in a few parts.

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ also features quite a few surprises which are really unexpected. The surprises will really appease people who have enjoyed the Fox era Marvel movies. There are a few that did appear in the movie’s trailers (such as the return of the Laura/X23 character from ‘Logan’). The couple scenes that she has with this variant of Wolverine are really awesome to see.

This movie also serves as a nice little tribute to the Fox-Marvel movies and there’s even a little moment during the end credits that features behind the scenes footage of these movies.

So, make sure to check out ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ on the big screen! Now, let’s see if Marvel keeps it up and the MCU gets back on the right track!

Some of the cast: Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool; Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan; Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova; Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox; Dafne Keen as Laura; Morena Baccarin as Vanessa; Rob Delaney as Peter; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, among many others.

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is written by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool 2), Shawn Levy, Zab Wells (Robot Chicken), and writing duo Rhett Reese/Paul Wenick (Peacock’s Twisted Metal; Zombieland 2) and directed by Shawn Levy (Netflix’s Stranger Things; Netflix’s The Adam Project; Free Guy).

A third ‘Deadpool’ movie has been in development ever since the 2018 sequel. Reynolds made the major announcement in 2022 that Jackman would be returning as Wolverine.

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore and sexual references and has a running time of 127 minutes.
