For nearly three decades, the ‘Bad Boys’ franchise has been delivering lots of great action and even some great humorous banter between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The first ‘Bad Boys’ opened in 1995 and its long-belated sequel, ‘Bad Boys II’ opened in 2003, and both became moderate hits.
‘Bad Boys For Life’, the third entry in the series, opened in January 2020 and became a big hit on the big screen before theaters started shutting down.
Now, the Bad Boys are back for more great, intense action and wise-cracks with ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die.’
When their late police captain gets linked to drug cartels, wise-cracking Miami cops Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett embark on a dangerous mission to clear his name.
Only this time, there’s one slight difference: Lowery and Burnett are now on the run.
‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ delivers a lot of very intense action sequences and the usual great humor that you can expect from both Smith and Lawrence. The latest sequel really ups the ante on the thrilling action and really doesn’t disappoint!
The ‘Bad Boys’ movies have some fairly memorable action moments that can blow your mind. And, for ‘Bad Boys 4,’ the filmmakers really turned the intensity of the action up a notch or two. Quite a few of the action scenes are amazingly shot.
During one part of the major shoot-out towards the end, there is a small portion of the sequence where the action is shot in the POV of Lowery (Smith) and Burnett (Lawrence) that makes the scene really stand out. I actually watched a behind the scenes clip about how they put together the POV shots and it’s really awesome to check out. In fact, all of the action in this sequel is great and will easily leave action fans entertained.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence still have great on-screen chemistry together and you can tell that they still enjoy portraying the wise-cracking Miami cops. Even the character of Reggie, who has become a fan-favorite character in ‘Bad Boys II’ and the 2020 sequel, has a few humorous moments and a truly awesome action moment.
The plot-line of the Miami cops trying to clear their late captain’s name is really compelling and adds a bit of emotion to the sequel. Also, if you love the series, you know you can’t have a ‘Bad Boys’ sequel without an appearance from Captain Howard (who is also a fan-favorite character of the series).

Overall, ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ is an action-packed flick that delivers a lot of great fun and is definitely a movie that you wouldn’t want to miss on the big screen!
